Warrenpoint
Maplet (3*) Off-Roaders Only!
Sent in by John Bruce (25/03/2009)

'Just off the Clonallan Road at the east end of the town of Warrenpoint, County Down. Grid ref (Irish grid) IJ 15870 18760. This ford is about 25 feet across and at the time of visiting had a depth of between 6 & 9 water flowing over it. The approaches are gravel and the base has at one time been formed of large granite setts, most of those are still in place but there are deep potholes where some are missing. It is easy to steer a course to miss these holes'
